European legislation (General Food Law) stipulates that food companies are responsible for the products they purchase and market. In that event, the food safety of these products must be guaranteed. For bakeries, it is important, among other things, to verify whether suppliers supply food-safe raw materials.

 At home in the market

We work together with a considerable number of industrial bakeries, producers of bakery raw materials and the milling industry in the medium and large segment. Through our years of experience we know what is happening in the market and we are familiar with the standards of AIB (American Institute of Baking), BRC, IFS, FSSC 22000 and HACCP systems and hygiene codes. In addition, we are familiar with Riskplaza and the ingredient database of Specplaza.

Because the perfect functioning of food safety systems is essential, we do everything we can to help our partners develop and maintain them. As a result, potential threats such as fungi from toxins, foreign bodies, trans fatty acids, genetically modified organisms and physical contamination are controlled. Traceability and hazard analysis are also part of these systems, in order to be able to identify which risks can occur at which stage of the process.

Food allergy

Food allergy is a topic that finds itself increasingly in the spotlight. Because of the major consequences that an allergy can have, you are obliged to inform the consumer about the (possible) presence of allergens in your product.

We help bakeries to limit cross-contamination of common allergens within the production process. In addition, we give advice on the preparation of a correct product specification regarding allergens. Even when it comes to non-pre-packaged foods, we can give you advice on how to handle these in the right way.

For example, many bakers are faced with the choice of whether to produce based on the FSSC 22000 standard, with the aim of continuously improving the food safety system and thus the performance of the company.
