Abiolab continues as Normec Abiolab
Since 1 October 2022, Abiolab has been part of Normec Foodcare. With which, Normec Foodcare has increased its services, knowledge and expertise and taken its first steps in France. On 11 March 2024, Abiolab has further developed and the French part of the organisation has a new name: Normec Abiolab.
Normec Abiolab serves customers in both the public and private sectors. The head office is located in Montbonnot-Saint-Martin, near Grenoble. Besides the head office, there are four laboratories spread throughout France and a hub in Switzerland. In addition, Normec Abiolab also performs some audit services.
With a total of 130 employees, including 80 in Montbonnot-Saint-Martin, the main laboratory focuses on three different categories: Food, Environment (water and air) and Healthcare. The other three laboratories focus exclusively on water testing and are only responsible for the operational activities of testing.
At the end of 2023, Normec Abiolab expanded its position by acquiring the AdGène laboratory, located near Caen. Under the new name Normec Abiolab AdGène, the laboratory performs analyses in the fields of water, legionella, agri-food and GMO research under Cofrac accreditation. The acquisition enables Normec Abiolab to provide a local offering in the north-west of France.
