Water quality and safety

You are subject to specific legislation dependent on the purpose and the source of the water in question.

Some of which are:

  • Flemish Decree – 13/12/2002 (distribution – water supplier)
  • FASFC circulaire 06/05/2020 (water in food companies)
  • KB 14/01/2002 (water for human consumption)
  • KB 08/02/1999 (natural mineral water and spring water)
  • Use of recycled water in abattoirs
  • Drinking water, clean water and treated water – fruit and vegetables

As far as food companies are concerned, it is primarily the 06/05/2020 circulaire that is applicable. Which analyses are required to be carried out depends on the source of your water (tap water, well water …) How often these analyses must be carried out is determined by your day-to-day consumption.

Sample taking

Taking water samples can be carried out by our certified employees. We carry out both bacteriological and chemical analyses in our laboratory. A report is drawn up in which the values are checked against the applicable legislation. In cases of exceeded values, the obtained values will be printed in bold. In such cases, a risk analysis will have to be performed by the operator in order to determine which actions should be taken. We will, of course, provide you with the necessary support.

Water quality and safety in short

  • What legislation do you fall under?
  • Frequency analysis is determined by your usage per day
  • In case of exceedances, a risk analysis will have to be performed
