Microorganisms: food

In order to guarantee food safety and quality, you as a company, must regularly perform microbiological analyses on the products that you produce, and the raw materials used. This must be done proactively and regularly before the products go to the next links in the chain.

Detection of microorganisms

When it comes to evaluating food safety and quality, we look for various types of microorganisms. We also cultivate microorganisms in petri dishes in our laboratory. After an average of 3 to 5 days, we then issue a report on:

  • The presence of a microorganism in, for example, the food (or whether or not they were detected)
  • The amount of a microorganism in, e.g. foodstuffs (a count)

In addition to the traditional method (as mentioned above), we also work with the Real Time PCR method. We use the genetic material (DNA) of microorganisms as a basis for determining whether or not they have been detected in foodstuffs.
