Normec LVL and Metakom

Normec LVL, located in Emstek, is a specialized laboratory that provides microbiological, chemical, and serological analyses for the food industry, ensuring safety and compliance. Metakom, based in Feuchtwangen, is an accredited lab under DIN EN ISO/IEC 17025, specialising in food safety and quality assurance. In August 2024, Metakom joined the Normec Group, enhancing its capabilities. Both labs support Normec Foodcare’s commitment to high industry standards and reliable food safety solutions. For these two locations in Germany, we are seeking a Sales Director.

Role description

In this newly created role you will be responsible for growth in both locations (Normec LVL and Metakom). Our M&A strategy is to expand our footprint in Germany and this role will also be responsible for defining the commercial strategy of new units. The total sales team of Normec Foodcare consists of approximately 30 commercial employees and there are 4 other sales directors already in place. The Sales Director will report to the Managing Director in Germany.  Currently, this role is not yet existing, in the interim period, the sales director will report into the Commercial Director of Normec Foodcare.

As a dynamic and results-driven Sales Director in the laboratory field and food industry, you are a decisive individual with a sharp eye for opportunities, strategic and have financial acumen. You will hold a leadership role but will not directly manage a team, which offers the opportunity to operate independently and utilize your commercial talents.

Your ability to identify growth prospects and drive strategic sales initiatives is key. Using KPIs, you’ll monitor performance and adjust strategies to ensure success. Key responsibilities include:

  • New Business Development: Identify and secure new clients to expand market share and revenue.
  • Market Gap Analysis: Analyze the market to identify gaps and unmet needs, especially for laboratory services, enhancing the company’s service portfolio
  • Service Expansion for Existing Clients: Expand services for existing clients, boosting customer satisfaction and revenue
  • Performance Monitoring: Use KPIs to measure and drive performance, adjusting strategies for sustainable growth

Your profile

For this challenging and versatile position of Sales Director, we are seeking candidates with a commercial mindset and able to recognize market potential.
Furthermore, you recognize yourself in the following points:

  • Around 5-7 years of experience in a commercial role in the laboratory field and/or food industry
  • You have at least a master’s degree in business, economics, a food-related field or, a laboratory discipline
  • Strong in strategic and marketing skills, but also action-driven, concrete and results-oriented
  • Capable of positioning the Normec Foodcare propositions for the German market and create actionable plans
  • Sales experience with the ability to open doors and establish relationships
  • Able to communicate effectively with clients and strong negotiation skills
  • Fluent in both German and English
  • Willing to travel across different locations in Germany
